Socorro County VINELink Coverage
Socorro County expressly identifies the Socorro County Detention Center as a member of New Mexico’s VINE system. VINE means Victim Information and Notification Everyday. The free service supplies custody and location information and can send notice when the reporting agency records a custody change. No Socorro County Sheriff's Office mobile app was verified as a substitute. The county lists phone, email, text-message, and TTY alerts through VINELink.
Coverage follows the custodian. A person booked at the county jail must be searched under the Socorro County record. Someone transferred to the New Mexico Corrections Department is no longer a county-jail search. A transfer to another county may require a new record and new registration there. VINELink does not replace the court docket, the jail release sheet, or the NMCD offender record. Each source answers a different part of the release question.
The official Detention Center page supplies the local proof of VINE participation and links the service alongside the county roster and jail information.
Current custody and past release are not the same query. The county’s JailTracker roster is a current-jail starting point. A person who drops from it may have bonded out, finished time, transferred, or moved under a detainer. VINELink can report an event, but the Socorro County Detention Center must explain whether it was a community release or a handoff to another custodian.
Search a Socorro Inmate on VINELink
Use a specific person and specific agency. Start at the official VINELink home page, select New Mexico, and enter the person’s name or the offender or booking number accepted by the current interface. Open a result only after the identity and supplying agency fit the Socorro booking being checked. A common name is not enough. Compare an identifier, birth information, case number, or other reliable detail before reading the event as belonging to that person.

- Enter the legal name or a known offender or booking number. Try verified aliases only when needed.
- Compare the agency and at least one additional identifier before opening a match.
- Read the current custody, location, and event text exactly as labeled, including the displayed date and time.
- Call the supplying agency when a release, transfer, or hold must be distinguished.
If no Socorro result appears, check spelling and identifiers before drawing a conclusion. The source may not yet have updated, the person may be held by another agency, or the record may have moved with a transfer. Socorro VINELink Release Record Fields
Field names can change with the interface and the agency feed. Transcribe what the live record actually says. Do not rename a custody event or treat a blank field as a fact. A released result means that the supplying custodian reported a release or custody change. It does not establish that no other jail, prison, immigration hold, warrant, or supervision term remains.

A Socorro jail release event should be checked against the jail’s booking and release record. That record can identify the actual release date and time, release authority or type, and receiving agency if the person was transferred. A court event may explain a bond order or dismissal, but a docket entry does not prove the physical exit time when another hold existed.
For an NMCD record, use the state offender search and the assigned institution or Probation and Parole office. NMCD says its Adult Prison Division data updates nightly, while probation and parole data updates in real time. Those update rules do not apply to Socorro County JailTracker or prove VINELink’s update time.
Register Socorro VINELink Release Alerts
Registration starts from the correctly matched person record. Choose the notification or registration control shown in the live interface. The Socorro County page confirms four alert channels: telephone, email, SMS text, and TTY. Select more than one available channel when timing matters, but keep each destination current. Registration is tied to the custodian’s record, not just the person’s name.

- Create the requested four-digit PIN for a telephone alert and keep it private.
- When VINE calls, enter the PIN to acknowledge the message. Use the operator for a reset or cancellation.
- Use “Update Registration” or the current equivalent when a phone number or email address changes.
The live NMCD rule says telephone calls repeat until acknowledgment or 48 hours. An older brochure used a shorter period, so the current service instruction controls. An answering machine may receive the message while calls continue. Avoid making duplicate registrations just because a PIN was lost. Socorro County and NMCD VINE
Socorro County’s jail participation and NMCD’s state-prison service are separate. The county continues to direct people to VINE for its detention information. In contrast, the NMCD VINE notice currently says the department-specific system is undergoing an upgrade. NMCD offender searches, new registrations, and non-release notifications through that service are unavailable during the upgrade, while release notifications for people already registered continue.
This local and state split is the most important Socorro-specific VINE detail. A county-jail search may still work when a state-prison VINE search or new registration does not. First identify who holds the person. Use the Socorro jail and VINELink path for a county booking. Use the NMCD Offender Search and the department’s listed fallback numbers, 505-827-8848 or 505-288-2535, for a state offender during the outage.
NMCD says its normal custody-change notices can include release, out-to-court status, and escape. It does not send notices for transfers between NMCD prison facilities. A person entering NMCD from the county jail may need a separate state registration after the department restores that function. Until then, the state offender search and direct agency confirmation are the usable checks.
Note: A county alert registration does not automatically follow a person into NMCD, another county jail, or a different reporting system.
Socorro VINE Languages and Operator
New Mexico’s statewide VINE material supports English, Spanish, and Navajo access. The telephone service is available at 877-551-8463, and pressing 0 reaches an operator. That help channel matters when a name search fails, a PIN needs to be reset, or a registration should be canceled. It does not replace the Detention Center as the source for the release type or receiving agency.
NMCD Victim Services uses a separate number, 877-842-8464, and lists weekday service from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain, along with CDVictimsrvcs@cd.nm.gov. Victims of violent crime who seek written Adult Parole Board hearing and NMCD release notice must register through the prosecuting district attorney. That written-notice process is distinct from ordinary VINELink custody alerts.

Socorro Transfers Need New Registration
A transfer can end one agency’s record without putting the person in the community. If the Socorro County Detention Center sends someone to another county, NMCD, the U.S. Marshals Service, or an immigration custodian, the county event may look like a release from local custody. Ask the jail for the receiving agency. Then search and register with that custodian’s system where available.
VINE does not notify between NMCD prison facilities. Its state record may therefore remain silent about an internal move. Facility placement can change even when the sentence and custody continue. Use the NMCD offender search, allow for the stated nightly prison-data update, and call the institution when current location matters. For probation or parole, use the real-time PPD side and the listed supervision office.
A federal path is different. The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal records, not VINELink. A past date with “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” means only that BOP no longer holds the person. ICE’s locator focuses on current ICE or qualifying recent CBP custody and is not a release-history database. No result from either system should be treated as proof of community release.
Confirm a Socorro VINELink Release
VINELink is a notification and custody-information tool. It is not a certified release record. Data can lag, a record can move to another custodian, and a release label may not reveal a separate hold. Call the Socorro County Detention Center at 575-835-0945 when the jail supplied the event. Ask for the actual release or transfer date and time, the release type, and the receiving agency. Request the booking and release sheet when written proof is needed.
Check the court authority as well. New Mexico Case Lookup can show bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, probation, warrant, or revocation events, but its public display is not the official court record. Obtain the signed order from the clerk. For state custody or supervision, pair the NMCD search with the institution or PPD office. These sources clarify what the VINE event alone cannot.
The reliable sequence is simple. Match the right person, identify the reporting custodian, register through the matched record, preserve the exact event label, and confirm with that agency.
